Welcome to a world where nature’s beauty comes alive through pastel strokes. I’m Olive Dodd, an artist based in the stunning beauty of British Columbia, Canada. My journey has been as colorful and diverse as the art I create.
As one of the first female National Park Wardens in Western Canada and later a GIS computer mapping specialist, I developed a deep connection with nature and honed my analytical skills.
My passion for exploration led me on incredible adventures - from hiking to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro and going on safari in Tanzania, to bicycling through England, Scotland, New Zealand, and the Oregon coast. I toured Australia for a year and worked on tourist boats off the Whitsunday Islands. These global experiences have profoundly influenced my artistic perspective.

Throughout my career and travels, art remained my creative balance to the structured world of data and analysis. My artistic exploration spans the decades, evolving through pen & ink, watercolors and acrylics. Upon retiring in 2018, I rekindled my passion for art, discovering the magic of soft pastels in 2021 - it was love at first stroke.
Inspired by the Shuswap’s majestic mountains, serene lakes, and vibrant wildlife - as well as the diverse landscapes I’ve encountered worldwide - I strive to capture not just nature’s visual essence, but the emotions it evokes. My unique background allows me to blend precision with artistic freedom, creating detailed and emotionally resonant pieces.
